TYLO European Alps tour 2025
This fine print is important - please read carefully.
The following terms and conditions form an integral part of the travel contract entered between you (the Customer) and Throw Your Leg Over of 15 Rise Place, Upper Kedron QLD 4055 (TYLO).
1 - Tour partnership
TYLO has once again partnered with Adriatic Motorcycle Tours (AMT) for its 2025 European Alps tour.
This is a bespoke tour with the route being unique for this tour.
AMT has over 20 years’ experience in conducting tours through Europe and beyond.
These terms and conditions reflect the terms and conditions of AMT.
2 - Booking + payment
By signing up for the tour with submission of the online booking form and payment of the tour deposit, the Customer offers to TYLO to bindingly execute a travel contract.
TYLO cannot accept a participant without a submitted booking form.
The contract shall enter into force upon the written travel confirmation from TYLO.
A deposit of AU$1,000 (or equivalent) per person is required at the time of booking. This deposit secures a place on the tour.
Spots on tour are limited to a maximum of 10 riders and reservations are made on a first come basis.
The outstanding payment of the tour price shall be made at least 65 days before the start of the tour.
If full payment is not received by the specified due date, TYLO reserves the right to treat the reservation as cancelled and to charge a cancellation fee specified in these terms and conditions.
3 - Tour pricing
The tour prices stated on this website and in literature is based on motorcycle selection and shared accommodation (twin or double room).
The Customer participating in the tour as a rider on their chosen motorcycle shall pay the tour price for a rider according to the chosen motorcycle model.
A pillion (passenger) participating in the tour with the rider on the chosen motorcycle shall pay the tour price for a pillion.
A rider and pillion joining the tour with their own motorcycle shall pay the tour price for a rider with their own motorcycle and a pillion, respectively.
Minimum numbers
The price of the tour in the table below is based on a minimum of six riders.
Eight riders will reduce the price per rider by approximately €750.
Ten riders will reduce the price per rider by approximately €1,200.
Pillion pricing will the price per pillion by approximately €330 or €860 respectively.
TYLO will send the Customer an itemised account of payments received from the Customer.

4 - Motorcycles
TYLO will endeavour to provide the Customer with the motorcycle of first choice, however, the time of year will see many tours happening, so it may not be possible to furnish the first choice.
It is essential to nominate the preferred second choice, should the first not be available.
If you have any specific needs, please advise at the time of booking.
TYLO reserves the right to replace the chosen motorcycle with a comparable model in case of uncontrollable situations. These include, but are not limited to, technical defect, damage due to an accident, theft or a similar incident.
If TYLO is unable to provide a comparable model, a prorated refund for the difference in models' rental rates, if any, will be refunded to the Customer.
Any other liability on the part of TYLO shall hence be excluded.
In case of a technical defect of the chosen motorcycle, the Customer undertakes to inform the TYLO contact person without delay.
5 - Motorcycle insurance
All motorcycles are insured with third party liability insurance and comprehensive vehicle insurance.
A standard excess applies in the event of an accident.
In case of a loss or theft the Customer is responsible for the amount of the Standard Excess, regardless of the VIP or Super VIP motorcycle insurance.
The GPS unit is not included in the motorcycle insurance and must be paid in full separately, if damaged or lost.

Insurance options

Standard motorcycle insurance is included in the tour price, with the Customer being liable for the standard excess value stated in the table above, in the event of an accident.

VIP Excess insurance is optional. The premium costs €25 per day and lowers the excess amount payable by the Customer in the event of an accident.

Super VIP Excess insurance is optional. The premium costs €40 per day and lowers the excess payable by the Customer in the event of an accident.
VIP motorcycle insurance and Super VIP motorcycle insurance is available for all riders who have held a full motorcycle driving license for at least two years and are of a minimum 25 years of age and not more than 75 years of age at the time of the tour.
Riders who have held a full motorcycle driving license for less than two years are responsible for the full value of the motorcycle they are renting; the standard insurance excess does not apply in this case.
6 - Motorcycle damage
The customer is liable for any damage to the rented motorcycle, parts and accessories, that occur during the rental period.
This includes, but is not limited to, theft or loss, damage due to an accident, damage as the result of improper use and damage that reduces the value of the motorcycle.
The term "damage" excludes reasonable wear and tear. Minor blemishes of paint chips from gravel, stones, and insects are considered normal wear and tear.
Damage or scratches caused by an accident, dropping a motorcycle, or riding a motorcycle through bushes and off road is not considered normal wear and tear.
If a damaged motorcycle has to transported back to its premises due to damage for which the customer is responsible, then TYLO reserves the right to invoice the customer for recovering the motorcycle at the amount of €150 with the first 50 km covered plus €1.50 per every kilometre after that.
7 - Own motorcycle
A Customer who participates on the tour with his/her own motorcycle is responsible for guaranteeing the roadworthy state of the said vehicle, which conforms to the law.
The Customer shall bear any costs additionally incurred (eg. for recovering a vehicle, for remedying technical defects, etc).
A customer who participate with their own motorcycle is responsible for all insurances and must provide evidence of having valid green card insurance.
8 - Passport, visa, driver licence + international driver permit
The Customer undertakes to possess valid documents, which are required in order to participate in the tour:

Passport, valid for at least 6 months after the end of the tour

Full motorcycle driver license (not required for pillions)

International driving permit (not required for pillions or European citizens)
The Customer is responsible for complying with passport and visa regulations of the respective visiting countries and takes full responsibility for consequences resulting from his/her non-compliance.
By completing the booking form, the Customer declares to possess a valid motorcycle driving license for the duration of the tour and for the motorcycle used on the tour.
The Customer shall inform TYLO without delay of any and all changes regarding their driver licence which have an influence on tour participation (eg. revocation of the driver licence, etc).
If it turns out after the booking and before or during the tour that the customer does not have a valid driver licence, TYLO shall be released from its obligation to continue to fulfil the contract by invoicing the cancellation rates indicated in these terms and conditions.
In this case TYLO reserves the right to not provide the motorcycle and to exclude the Customer from participating in the tour.
TYLO shall not be obliged to reimburse paid services of any kind and shall not be liable for any additional costs which may be incurred by the Customer due to this circumstance.
9 - Change of participant
The Customer may only substitute themselves with a substitute with TYLO’s written agreement.
The substitute must comply with all the conditions for participating in the tour.
The person transferring and the substitute person shall be jointly responsible for the tour value still outstanding as well as, if applicable, the additional costs incurred by the transfer.
10 - Cancellation charge
In the case of the Customer cancelling the booking after confirmation, the following cancellation fees will apply.

No exception to this policy will be made for any reason.
Tour cancellation insurance must be procured by the Customer at least 65 days prior to the tour commencing.
If the Customer cannot get this insurance as part of their travel insurance, then it can be purchased separately through AMT. Contact TYLO for details.
11 - Tour services
Situations and events beyond TYLO's control may arise, including but not limited to, road works, hotel closures, natural disasters or bad weather conditions, governmental orders, strikes, riots, war or war-like conditions, pandemics, etc. which could make it necessary for TYLO to reschedule or cancel the tour, change the itinerary or make substitutions regarding hotels, cities, guides and other travel arrangements.
TYLO does not assume responsibility or liability for any resulting losses, expenses or inconvenience to the Customer.
12 - Local provisions
The Customer will abide by laws of the respective tour destination country and undertakes to observe the provisions of the local traffic regulations.
If the Customer does not comply with the traffic laws, TYLO reserves the right to revoke the contract and remove the Customer's rented motorcycle.
All traffic tickets, penalties, administrative fines or similar sanctions, as well as damages to legally protected interests of third parties which are due to the non-compliance with the local traffic regulations, shall be paid by the Customer.
A service charge in the amount of €30 will apply for all unpaid penalties.
13 - Off-road riding
Off-road riding with motorcycles provided by TYLO shall not be permitted outside of the itinerary determined by TYLO.
The Customer shall fully bear the damages caused by unauthorised off-road riding and improper use.
14 - Own responsibility + ability to ride
The guide provided by TYLO follows an itinerary which the Customer shall follow of their own accord.
The Customer warrants that he/she has the necessary riding skills to not cause undue delay to other tour participants.
15 - Customer's conduct + liability
The Customer agrees not to cause any damage to natural surroundings or third parties through their actions while riding their motorcycle.
The Customer agrees to observe local traffic laws and practice safe group travel practices as described by the tour leader.
If the Customer repeatedly ignores rules or causes others to feel threatened by their actions, TYLO reserves the right to revoke this contract and remove the Customer’s rental motorcycle.
The Customer shall not consume alcohol or take medications or other substances which influence the ability to ride during the riding day until the motorcycle is parked for the night.
This applies also to Customers who participate in the tour as pillions.
In case of non-compliance, TYLO reserves the right to revoke the contract and remove the Customer’s rental motorcycle.
16 - Weather conditions
The tour passes through areas where weather conditions can change abruptly.
TYLO does not bear any responsibility for bad weather conditions which might occur; the Customer is not entitled to a claim reimbursement for the tour price in such cases.
17 - Data protection + copyright
Photographs and videos produced by TYLO and AMT during the tour are the property of TYLO.
TYLO shall be entitled to use this material for marketing and advertising purposes, including the images in which the Customer can be recognised.
The Customer agrees to allow the use of photographs by TYLO for marketing and advertising purposes.
18 - Miscellaneous
The Customer agrees to take out an adequate travel, health and accident insurance policy as well as trip cancellation insurance.
Baggage entrusted to TYLO for transport each day of the tour is done so at the Customer’s own risk. TYLO assumes no responsibility for theft, loss, damage or delay in delivering the baggage to tour participants.
It is recommended the Customer does not bring any objects of special value on the tour.
It is further recommended to the Customer to watch carefully over his/her personal belongings.
TYLO is not responsible for lost or stolen items from the motorcycles and their cases or the support vehicle.
Oral agreements with TYLO or with a tour guide of TYLO shall only be effective if they have been confirmed by TYLO in writing.
Tour guides shall not be entitled to undertake activities which diverge from the travel contract concluded with TYLO.
19 - Applicable law
The contractual relationship of the Customer with TYLO and AMT will be governed by Slovenian law.
The place of performance shall be the registered office of AMT.
All disputes arising from this agreement will be solved by the court of law in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
